Editorial: Beware the sarcoma

With the increase in musculoskeletal physiotherapists acting as First Contact Practitioners, in specialist roles and in musculoskeletal triage services, there is an increasing likelihood of them being exposed to patients with musculoskeletal tumours early in the patient journey. Similarly, sarcomas can often masquerade as common musculoskeletal conditions and it is therefore not uncommon for a referral to physiotherapy services as first line management. Suspicion, recognition and appropriate onward referral are the hallmarks of good clinical care.
