Meeting Report: The First Global Congress on Epidermolysis Bullosa, EB2020 London – Toward Treatment and Cure

Epidermolysis bullosa (EB), the prototype of skin fragility disorders, manifests with blistering and erosions, associated with a number of extracutaneous findings. The disease causes extensive morbidity and frequently early mortality, and currently there is no specific and effective treatment. The majority of cases manifest at birth or shortly thereafter and the signs and symptoms persist throughout the life, having a significant clinical and psychological impact on patients and their families and also imposing an enormous burden on global healthcare systems.
