Effect of Establishing a Teaching Assistant Case Minimum on General Surgery Residents: 18-Year Comparison of a Single Institution to National Data

The 2014 minimum Teaching Assistant (TA) case requirement for graduating general surgery residents has led to a significantly increased number of logged TA cases, thereby hopefully fostering increased autonomy and increasing resident comfort and capability.
