FOAM and Global Medical Collaboration

FOAM is becoming recognised as a global opportunity for medical education collaboration. Following our first celebrity endorsement from Leonard Cohen, the #FOAMed movement has now been recognised at the annual Healthcare Engagement Strategy Awards (#HESAwards) The Healthcare Engagement Strategy Awards (or #hesawards) identifies and recognises effective strategies in global healthcare engagement. Now in its fourth year, previous winners since the launch of the first #hesawards in 2009 have included initiatives and people in pharmaceutical companies, NGOs, hospitals, television broadcasters and social networks. This year’s winners reflect the changing nature of global healthcare engagement, from an innovative initiative to support patients with cancer in the UK, to a massive cancer-prevention healthcare engagement initiative that has embraced diverse social media channels worldwide; and from a pioneering online hospital that connects international doctors in supporting patients anywhere in the world to a global medical education movement led by a rapidly-growing network of physicians in public social media.
