Studying medicine at university

Thread Starter Studying medicine at university Follow 2 hours ago 2h ago It's always possible to become a doctor. During my time we had the old gcse style and a-levels. I think at the time only 1 university (Barts) had a direct entry route for some b-tec students from deprived areas. So although it's definitely difficult to apply for medicine with B-tec, I think the best thing to do is call the university, tell them your situation and find out exactly what they want (preferably get something in writing for reference). One suggestion (if unis don't accept b-tec) is to sit the A-levels privately (but make sure with unis they will also accept your gcse grades) - do bare in mind you will have to work very hard and get top grades. There a many private centres in all major cities that do this (your college can't stop you even if they say so).
