Infection Control in the Medical Imaging Department During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Until March 25, 2020, more than 416,686 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection in 196 countries and regions all over the world. Reverse transcriptase –polymerase chain reaction test of COVID-19 is the gold standard for diagnosis, but the shortage of supply test kits may not meet the needs of a growing infected population. Chest computed tomography (CT) has a high sensitivity for diagnosis of COVID-19 cases in the early stage and helpful for pat ients with high clinical suspicion of COVID-19 infection but negative reverse transcriptase–polymerase chain reaction screening [1–3].
