Transfers

As I write this I'm working on an ALS transfer truck in Boston I should be trying to sleep but I'm practicing two thumb journalism instead. I'm still attempting to figure out why I agreed to work the shifts I'm on as I came in for 12 noon today, worked until 8:00 pm, came back on for an overnight shift, and tomorrow I'm on from 12:00 until 11pm before heading home. I must be out of my mind, but there is a method to the madness. My plans for graduate school, unfortunately, are scuttled for the foreseeable future. I'm going to have to put it off for 12 months, like it or not, because I ran into a problem with financing the program. Totally unexpected but nothing I can do about it. All I can do is fix the problem as it presented itself to me. As far as today is concerned, it was busy earlier. I went out multiple times to deal with some reasonably sick people. And the phone just rang. The other crew is taking the call that just came in, but I'm sure there will be more to come. For now the fatigue is creeping in....
