2020: The Year of the Nurse and the Midwife

Early last year, the World Health Organization designated 2020 as the International Year of the Nurse and the Midwife. Nursing and midwifery will be recognized and celebrated  across the globe for the invaluable role that we play in bringing universal health care to all people, in all settings. The celebration is also particularly significant as 2020 is the 200th anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale.1
