Pregnancy With Any Tubal Length

Women travel from all over the United States and internationally to have Dr. Monteith untie their fallopian tubes. During tubal reversal surgery, the remaining tubal segments are measured. All tubal ligations are not created equally. Tubal Ligations using ligation and resection, coagulation, and cautery (tied, cut and burned) tend to be the more destructive leaving varying tube lengths while rings, clips and clamps do minimal damage to the tube and usually leave longer tubal lengths. Statistically, women with longer tubal lengths after tubal reversal surgery are more likely to get pregnant than women with shorter tubes. The good news is, despite these observations, women with tubal lengths as short as 1cm have gone on to have successful pregnancies after having their fertility restored at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center.
