A Good Heartfelt Deed

“What would you love to have tonight?” I asked my mother a moment ago at the nursing home. “Oh, I would love a Snicker’s bar,” she replied. “I’ve thought about it all day!” I called dad just as the pharmacy was closing and told him to bring mom a Snicker’s bar when he stopped by tonight.  “That was easy!” mom said with a Cheshire grin. “I aim to please,” was what I replied with and a good natured laugh. Mom was doing pretty good tonight. I asked her what they had for supper. “A fish steak and french fries,” mom told me. I didn’t stay long. Mom was yawning and dad wouldn’t be too far behind me. I told her I loved her and goodnight.
