Positive Fluid Balance and Association with Post-Traumatic Acute Kidney Injury

A positive fluid balance occurred in half of severely injured trauma patients at 48 hours after arrival. Furthermore, a positive fluid balance is independently and incrementally associated with acute kidney injury development. Excess fluid administration should be avoided to improve the care of severely injured trauma patients.
