Asymmetry in glenohumeral muscle strength of sitting volleyball players: an isokinetic profile of shoulder rotations strength.

CONCLUSIONS: The SV players have an asymmetrical rotational strength profile. As muscular imbalance is a common injury pattern among overhead players. The findings of this study may assist the SV coaches and physiotherapists for evaluation and training of strength of the ER and IR shoulders of these players. This study was part of ESPaCe, a national survey aimed at documenting the views of individuals with cerebral palsy and their families regarding MR services via a questionnaire, developed by a multidisciplinary group. The ESPaCe questionnaire included the Client Satisfaction Questionnaire (CSQ-8), whose total score was the primary outcome of this study. Survey participation was promoted nation-wide. The questionnaire could be completed by the person with cerebral palsy or their main carer. Analysis included the description of determinants across CSQ-8 quartiles and generalised linear modelling of the CSQ-8 score.ResultsFrom...

Authors: Yu X, Wang J, Hou S, Zeng R Abstract Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) ankylosis in pediatric patients is rare and may cause severe micrognathia and obstructive sleep apnea syndrome. The present study reports on the treatment and 4-year follow-up of a pediatric patient with early-onset bilateral TMJ ankylosis and severe secondary micrognathia, as well as obstructive sleep apnea syndrome. A typical 'bird face' appearance was noted with severe mandible retrognathism and a significant convex facial profile. The treatment of this patient involved TMJ ankylosis release with condylectomy and simultaneous bilateral m...

Stoddard, Rodomiro OrtizAbstractPhenotypic plasticity refers to changes expressed by a genotype across different environments and is one of the major means by which plants cope with environmental variability. Multi-fold differences in phenotypic plasticity have been noted across crops, with wild ancestors and landraces being more plastic than crops when under stress. Plasticity in response to abiotic stress adaptation, plant architecture, physio-reproductive and quality traits are multi-genic (QTL). Plasticity ...

Conclusion: Non-odontogenic toothaches may be multifactorial. The case presented emphasizes the importance of a comprehensive evaluation to differentiate odontogenic pain from non-odontogenic pain. Irreversible dental procedures should be instituted after an accurate diagnosis and multidisciplinary management may be required in complex cases.
