Got in, but failed a class during my last undergrad quarter

by GrossFTW (Posted Mon Jun 17, 2013 8:59 am)I was accepted to med school on February 14, 2013. This was, of course, contingent on the maintenance of good grades and the eventual completion of my degree in the spring. This quarter, I decided to take Immuno as an upper div bio course applicable towards my degree. I had heard bad things about class/professor, but thought that I could at least pass the class. Last week I took the final (40% of my grade) and I'm pretty sure I bombed it. People that have never failed a science class before have gone into her class and failed. The way she tests (short answer and essay) and grades (verbatim regurgitation of her notes) along with the fact that there were only 2 other tests during the quarter usually does a lot of decent students in. She does implement a bell curve if everyone sucks, but I won't be able to know my grade for a couple of days to find out if it helped me or not. If I fail this class, I won't be able to obtain my bachelor's degree, giving the med school good reason to retract their acceptance offer.Has anyone heard of any instances where an individual was able to retake a class online in the summer before med school and still get in? The reason I would have to do it online is because there aren't any local schools that offer Immuno, and I would also have to finish it by August 1 (which only gives me about a month and a half). UC Berkley offers the course through an online format, and I've heard most med schools recognize ...
