SpiveyAbstractOn December 4-5, 2017, Texas A&M University at Qatar organized a symposium to celebrate and honor the distinguished contribution of Professor Dragomir Bukur in the field of reaction engineering and catalysis. Bukur Reaction Engineering & Catalysis Symposium had been funded by the Qatar National Research Fund, SASOL Qatar, and Texas A&M University at Qatar. It hosted a large number of distinguished scientists and scholars shared their research outcome in areas related to catalysis, C1-Chemistry, Fischer Tropsch, natural gas reforming, gas-to-liquid technology, hydrogen production in addition to other fundamental areas such as reaction engineering and thermodynamic modeling. This special issue in Catalysis Today Journal also recognizes the distinguished contribution of Professor Bukur as it contains 24 papers in most of the areas listed above. This paper serves as an introduction and a review for this special issue; in addition, it provides a brief highlights of Professor Bukur’s contributions in the areas mentioned above.
