In this study, a novel cold-adapted nitroreductase gene (psntr) was cloned from Antarctic sea-ice bacteria Psychrobacter sp. ANT206. The psntr gene was 813 bp in length and encoded a protein with flavin mononucleotide (FMN) binding sites.
