New Data For Lundbeck's Antidepressant, Brintellix, Provide Insight Into Commercial Strategy

Depression continues to be an area of major medical need. A number of effective and well known antidepressants exist, including Prozac (Lilly) and Zoloft (Pfizer). These drugs, now available in generic forms, are known as SSRIs and while they are effective for millions of people, the fact is only 50% of depressed patients benefit from them. As a result, physicians and patients are still on the lookout for novel drugs that could be effective in those for whom first-line therapies fail.
