Comorbid chronic diseases and cancer diagnosis: disease-specific effects and underlying mechanisms

Nonetheless, how such conditions influence the timeliness of diagnosis remains largely unknown. In this Review the authors describe the available evidence on the complex relationships between cancer and other chronic diseases, and the implications for diagnosis and screening programmes.
