Kaiser Permanente finds homes for 250 homeless as part of housing for health prescription

Victor N. never thought in a million years he'd be homeless. The 54-year-old, Bay Area native had gone to college, served in the military, and had a job working as a clinician in homeless services. Then, his life started to crumble. His job closed down; he was behind on his rent and got served an eviction notice. While living in his car parked near the highway overpass in Emeryville in the January cold, Victor suffered from a pulmonary embolism. Also staving off pneumonia, he was hospitalized.…
