In this study, we developed a nucleus-targeting nanoparticle system for combining PTT/PDT and chemotherapy to treat breast cancer. IR780, a near-infrared (NIR) fluorescence dye that has potent anticancer efficacy of PTT and PDT, was firstly conjugated with TAT peptide through substitution reaction between chlorine atom and sulfhydryl group, thus obtained a conjugate TAT-IR780 with notably enhanced water solubility and optical stability. Next, chemotherapeutic drug doxorubicin (DOX) and TAT-IR780 self-assembled in aqueous medium to form TID nanoparticles with a small size of approximately 100 nm. Both in vitro and in vivo...

The objective of this article is to document whether DIRT can accurately map the position of the perforators and measure their influence on the perfusion of the flap in order to select the best perforators to improve the outcome of breast reconstructions with free DIEP flaps. A systematic review of the literature published between January 1998 and November 23th 2018 was conducted regarding the possible benefit of dynamic infrared thermography (DIRT) in DIEP-flap breast reconstructions. The databases PubMed and Web of Science were used to search for qualified articles. Inclusion criteria were women who underwent a breast rec...

Authors: Wadasadawala T, Sinha S, Verma S, Parmar V, Kannan S, Pathak R, Sarin R, Gaikar M Abstract Purpose: We evaluated agreement between subjective and objective methods of cosmesis scoring in an accelerated partial breast irradiation (APBI) cohort. Material and methods: Consecutive women treated with APBI using interstitial brachytherapy reported for clinical follow-up every 6 months. Single cross-sectional assessment of the breast cosmesis was done by a radiation oncologist (subjective method) using Harvard scale and by photographic assessment using BCCT.core (Breast Cancer Conservative Treatment. Cosmetic...

Emetine exhibits anticancer activity in breast cancer cells as an antagonist of Wnt/β‑catenin signaling. Oncol Rep. 2019 Aug 22;: Authors: Sun Q, Fu Q, Li S, Li J, Liu S, Wang Z, Su Z, Song J, Lu D Abstract Emetine, an amoebicidal drug, exerts potent anticancer activity against various solid tumors, however, the underlying molecular mechanism remains unclear. In the present study, the effects of emetine were investigated on various proteins involved in the Wnt/β‑catenin signaling pathway, which has been linked to various human cancers. It was revealed that emetine blocked Wnt/β‑cat...
