FDNY Unveils EMS Week 2019 Poster

NEW YORK - Fire Commissioner Daniel A. Nigro unveiled FDNY’s poster for National EMS Week on Thursday, May 16th at at FDNY Headquarters – 9 MetroTech Center, Brooklyn in celebration of national EMS Week, which began on Sunday, May 21. This year’s FDNY-developed poster’s theme is “EMS Strong: Beyond the Call.” The poster features EMT Ellis Olive, a 35-year-veteran of EMS, and EMT Mary Vanicky, a 31-year veteran of EMS, pictured treating an injured child in a playground. In 2018, FDNY responded to more than 1.5 million medical emergencies, and more than 1.8 million emergencies overall. The annual poster is intended to raise greater awareness about the life-saving work of FDNY members. The posters will be displayed on LinkNYC kiosks citywide, as well as in kiosks and bus shelters across the city.
