Think Unconventionally: Staffing Should Not Be a Threat to MRI-Guided Radiation Therapy

Health care teams are dynamic and change depending on clinical need, complexity and technological advances. MRI-guided radiation therapy (MRGRT) is now a reality and staffing has been perceived as a potential threat to successful implementation. Currently MRGRT systems are impractically operated by teams of physicians, radiation therapists (RTs) and physicists due to the diverse and complex tasks required to deliver treatment. This is in stark contrast to CBCT-guided therapy, which is generally performed by therapists only.
