Governor McCrory Wants My Ideas

Beverly Perdue is GONE.  Let us all pause to give thanks that the once-great state of North Carolina survived her tenure in office (just barely).  A musical piece comes to mind:Pat McCrory wants ideas.  So this "disgruntled ex-employee" (times two) sent him one:In theory, Obamacare threw 30 million more patients into the healthcare system without creating a single new physician.Many physicians are turning to employment by hospitals - or large corporations - instead of owning their own practices.Yet employment laws in North Carolina treat physicians no better than janitors.  Hospitals are allowed to treat physicians like pawns on a chess board - destroying lives, careers and practices - putting patients in danger.  Medical whistle-blowers have ZERO real protection.  Doctors cannot talk back to management - or tell them they're wrong - without risking loosing their jobs.  It's gotten so bad, that the AMA was recently compelled to issue a policy statement about the fair treatment of employed/contracted physicians - and CNN is posting editorials on the problem.But the NC legislature has DONE NOTHING to protect the MD's from the MBA's and lawyers.The state of North Carolina cannot continue to treat good doctors so badly.  There MUST be reform in employment law for physicians.  The NC Medical Board, Medical Society, and Hospital Association MUST STEP UP and make changes that keep doctors working, engaged and speaking out - for patients a...
