Conclusion: This case of thyroid bed PG supports the idea that PG reflects a cutaneous phenotype encompassed in the spectrum of systemic neutrophilic diseases. Endocrinologists should be aware that thyroid bed PG involvement is an albeit rare differential diagnosis to consider in patients who had undergone thyroid surgery, especially with a history of PG. Introduction Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC), the main variant of differentiated thyroid carcinoma (DTC), is the most common thyroid cancer, accounting for 70–80% of all thyroid carcinomas and occurring predominantly in women, generally with a good prognos...

In conclusion, we reported a CIAD case with two novel mutations that presented with recurrent seizures and hypoglycemia. When an infant shows recurrent hypoglycemia, with seizures and low plasma levels of ACTH and cortisol, CIAD should be take into consideration, even if the patient has other hormonal abnormalities. Genetic analysis is a powerful tool to confirm the diagnosis, which helped us to identify two novel mutations in our patient. In addition, the lack of an obvious circadian rhythm of ACTH and cortisol before treatment may be a specific characteristic of this disease. Ethics Statement This study was carried out...

We report on a series of 6 patients with mediastinal metastasis from lung cancer in whom the endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) showed that most of the lymph node tissue had “melted”, leading to the formation of a single, anechoic, avascular cavity. Besides the unique EBUS pattern, we describe the imaging and pathology findings of this unusual presentation of malignant mediastinal lymphadenopathy to facilitate its recognition.

In conclusion, despite the low prevalence of IET and cervical EET, clinicians and radiologists should be aware of US characteristics of such lesions and of the necessity of confirmation of their benign character. Elastography is a useful tool to initially differentiate PTC and IET. However, due to the high risk of malignancy in thyroid lesions in children, similarity of US features of PTC and IET, and because of the possibility of malignancy in ET, only cytological evaluation provides definitive diagnosis and prevents, on one hand, unnecessary frequent diagnostic procedures and/or surgery and, on the other hand, missing ma...

ConclusionsThe importance of the study is that, in DTC patients with indeterminate response, rising values of unstimulated Tg, independently from the basal levels, may be useful to identify patients with progressive disease. These results are also useful to avoid unnecessary TSH stimulation.
