As a class of new building block, the incorporation of organically modified polyoxometalates (OMPs) to metallopolymers not only broaden the kind of metal elements in metallopolymers, but also introduce novel functions. Herein, a survey of the progress in the OMPs-based metallopolymers is given. The organic modification methods of OMPs, synthetic strategy of OMPs-based metallopolymers, as well as their applications will be discussed.Graphical abstract
