Association of 30-Day Mortality With Oral Step-Down vs Continued Intravenous Therapy in Patients Hospitalized With Enterobacteriaceae Bacteremia

This journal article covering a cohort study (n=2,161) found no mortality difference with oral step down within 5 days vs continued IV antibiotics (13.1% vs 13.4%, p>0.05). There was also no difference in bacteraemia recurrence, and patients given step down treatment were discharge on average 2 days sooner.
