The system can tolerate a wide range of functionalized arylboronic acids and aryl halides. Furthermore, this protocol is also applicable for hetero-aryl bromides.Graphical abstractEfficient catalytic system [imidazole-hydrazone (L1-L3)/Pd(OAc)2] has been developed for Suzuki–Miyaura reaction in water under IR-irradiation. A wide range of substrates could be coupled with phenylboronic acid to afford the desired products in good to excellent yields at low catalyst loadings and low time of reaction.
