Impact of implementation of an Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) program in laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass: A prospective randomized clinical trial
Recent improvements in the perioperative care of bariatric patients, optimization of the operative techniques, improvements in equipment and the standardization of bariatric surgery programs have all resulted in decreased morbidity and mortality from bariatric surgery. Laparoscopic bariatric procedures are being performed with increasing frequency, being laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (LRYGB) and laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) the most common operations [1].
