Interleukin-17 Producing γδ T Cells Originate from SOX13+ Progenitors that Are Independent of γδTCR Signaling
The role of TCR in establishing IL-17 producing γδ T (Tγδ17) cell lineage identity during thymic development remains controversial. Spidale et al. identify a Sox13hi progenitor to Vγ2+ Tγδ17 cells and demonstrate that progenitor programming is dependent on SOX13 and TCF7 but independent of γδTCR.
