Establishing Nonprofit Status for an Interventional Radiology Student Interest Group
With the recent establishment of the interventional radiology (IR) residency and the overall current competitiveness in the field, networking has become incredibly important. As the IR residencies continue to expand and mature, student interest groups (SIGs) are becoming more important. However, SIGs are constrained by institutional requirements for funding events such as clear educational benefit to institution, what the funding may be spent on, as well as monetary limits. Therefore, it is important that an IR SIG have discretionary funds to host such events.
