Pulmonary Blastoma in an Adult Presenting with Hemoptysis and Hemothorax

Vossler, Ayman Abdul-GhaniAbstractPulmonary blastoma is a rare, aggressive neoplasm accounting for less than 1% of lung cancers in adults. Reported is a case of pulmonary blastoma in an adult with the unusual presentation of hemoptysis followed by large hemothorax. The patient received a lobectomy. Pathology showed clear resection margins without nodal involvement. However, the patient developed recurrence 4 months after surgery and died shortly thereafter. The clinical characteristics of pulmonary blastoma are discussed.
