Given the limitations of current surveillance practices for BE, multiple AIMs have been developed to improve detection of dysplasia and perform an “optical biopsy.” ASGE PIVI thresholds do not define the minimal incremental diagnostic yield (IDY) required over standard 4-quadrant biopsies for an AIM to be implemented in clinical practice.
