In vitro evaluation of frictional force of a novel elastic bendable orthodontic wire. Angle Orthod. 2018 May 25;: Authors: Takada M, Nakajima A, Kuroda S, Horiuchi S, Shimizu N, Tanaka E Abstract OBJECTIVES: To determine the frictional force (FF) of the novel, elastic, bendable titanium-niobium (Ti-Nb) alloy orthodontic wire in stainless steel (SS) brackets and to compare it with those of titanium-nickel (Ti-Ni) and titanium-molybdenum (Ti-Mo) alloy wires. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Three sizes of Ti-Nb, Ti-Ni, and Ti-Mo alloy wires were ligated with elastic modules to 0.018-inch and 0.022-inch SS brackets. The dynamic FFs between the orthodontic wires and SS brackets were measured at three bracket-wire angles (0°, 5°, and 10°) with an Instron 5567 loading apparatus (Canton, Mass). RESULTS: FFs increased gradually with the angle and wire size. In the 0.018-inch-slot bracket, the dynamic FFs of Ti-Nb and Ti-Ni alloy wires were almost the same, and those of the Ti-Mo alloy wire were significantly greater ( P

In this study, mechanical, histochemical and molecular assays were conducted to understand the mechanisms underlying the effects of Ca in fruit physical properties. In a two-year field trial, grapevines were sprayed with exogenous CaCl2 throughout the fruiting season. Results showed an increase in berry Ca concentration at harvest, associated to increased fruit consistency and skin resistance. ConclusionThis initial study found that DCE-MRI CoV was independently associated with malignancy in patients with suspected lung cancer. CoV has the potential to help diagnose indeterminate pulmonary lesions and may complement TIC-derived DCE-MRI metrics. Further studies are warranted to validate the diagnostic value of DCE-MRI intensity histogram analysis.

ConclusionOur study demonstrates that an AI solution can help radiologists to diagnose ICH and thus decrease the error rate. AI solution can serve as a prospective peer review tool for non-contrast head CT scans to identify ICH and thus minimize false negatives.

Despite the self-limiting nature of lateral epicondylitis (LE) the disease has a prolonged course in some patients. Currently there is no optimal treatment of choice for these patients. We treated 6 elbows in 5 patients with LE with free fat grafting.
