Microsurgical sequestectomy at 36  weeks of pregnancy: A case report

We report such a case, where microsurgical sequestectomy was performed at 36 weeks and three days of gestation because of severe extensor paresis of the left foot and big toe. The case shows that microsurgical treatment during pregnancy is safe. After treatment the patient regained full motor function and her pain regressed. She had a spontaneous vaginal delivery at 38 weeks.

CONCLUSIONS: Both modalities (lumbar stabilization and stretching were efficient for pain reduction, improving balance and increasing one trunk activity muscle after 6 weeks of intervention in pregnant women with low back pain. CLINICAL REHABILITATION IMPACT: The present study has implications, especially for clinical decision-making in regards to therapy choice in pregnant women with LBP to reduce pain and improve trunk function as measured through balance performance. CONCLUSION: This study demonstrated that 76% to 80% of respondents were pain free at 1, 3, and 6 months postpartum. Pregnancy-related back pain was the only risk factor associated with postpartum-related pain at the 1 to 3 and 3 to 6 month time interval. We report a case of compressive myelopathy and compression fracture of aggressive vertebral hemangioma after parturition in a 35-year-old woman.
