Haemodialysis Catheter in the Aortic Arch

A 64 year old woman with respiratory insufficiency caused by cardiac decompensation had a 14F high flow haemodialysis catheter (ARROW, Ruesch GmbH Austria) placed intra-arterially without ultrasound guidance. Computed tomography angiography revealed the position of the catheter in the aortic arch entering via the left proximal subclavian artery (panel A). The patient underwent endovascular sealing of the subclavian artery using an 8  × 60 mm stent graft (Covera, BardMedica SA, arrow) through femoral access with simultaneous catheter extraction (panel B).
