Assessing the relationship of CMR completion rate and medication adherence rates within Medicare Part D

Background: The impact of MTM, specifically Comprehensive Medication Reviews (CMR), on patients ’ health outcomes is unclear for the Medicare population. Some advocates for MTM services have asserted that higher completion rates for CMRs should lead to higher rates of medication adherence. However, since CMRs are typically completed just once per year, their impact on medication adherence ma y diminish quickly and result in a minimal long-term effect.
