Transparency in care: visible ratings for health and care providers

These ratings are designed to improve transparency by providing service users and the public with a clear statement about the quality and safety of care provided. The ratings will also incentivise providers to improve services. The government believes that these ratings should be on display in all locations that provide care, to ensure that providers are transparent about their performance. The purpose of this consultation is to seek views on the proposal to make it a legal requirement for providers to display the performance rating given to them by the CQC.
