How would you sequence this treatment for this implant?

A 17 year old boy came into my office today missing tooth #8. The CT scan shows that the buccal cortical plate is still intact but the gingiva appear traumatized buccally.

AbstractPurposeThe purpose of this study was to analyze the frequency of visualization of anatomical bone features and their possible variations in the mandibular interforaminal region through cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT).MethodsThis is a cross-sectional study that evaluated CBCT scans of the mandible of 141 women and 61 men, obtained by imaging archives from two private clinics of dental radiology. The study analyzed the frequency of visualization of: lingual symphyseal foramen (LSF), additional mental foramen (AdMF), absence of mental foramen (AbMF), mandibular incisive canal (MIC), and anterior loop (AL). Length...

“Paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment and nonjudgmentally.” That’s how Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD, describes mindfulness. In the book Zen Mind, Beginner’s Mind, another thought leader in mindfulness, Shunryu Suzuki, says that, “In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert’s there are few.” In my experience, I’ve found that cultivating a beginner’s mind opens doors and improves clinical diagnosis. Medical training has phases, and clinicians in different phases think differently. In medical school, students learn...

Conclusions: Our case demonstrates that histopathological defined diagnosis may significantly inform therapeutic decision-making in irresectable cholangiocarcinoma even in regard to conventional systemic therapy. In case of an undifferentiated carcinoma poly-chemotherapy may provide significant success. PMID: 29774134 [PubMed]

Conclusion: In our study the overlap between baseline and post-therapeutic metabolic tumor sub-volumes was only moderate. These results need to be investigated in a larger cohort acquired with a more standardized patient repositioning protocol for sequential PET imaging. Methods: Pre and post treatment PET/CT scans of ninety four HNSCC patients treated with radio-chemotherapy were retrospectively reviewed. Follow-up 18F-FDG PET/CT images were registered to baseline scans using a rigid body transformation. Seven metabolic tumor sub-volumes were obtained on the baseline scans using a fixed percentage of SUVmax (I30, I40,...

Conclusion Precise knowledge of the lamina papyracea anatomy using computed tomography is essential for safer and more effective surgery and preforming the dimensions of an implant. In this way, the postoperative complications can be decreased and the best outcome can be provided.

Conclusions This review demonstrates that a community-based program can approximate the results of the National Lung Screening Trial in detecting early lung cancers. Further study of the adherence phenomenon is essential.

Conclusions TEVAR is feasible in chronic dissection but is limited by complex dissection-related anatomy. Increasing number of visceral vessels off the false lumen, maximum preoperative aortic size, and location of the primary tear on the greater curve were associated with poorer remodeling.
