How would you sequence this treatment for this implant?

A 17 year old boy came into my office today missing tooth #8. The CT scan shows that the buccal cortical plate is still intact but the gingiva appear traumatized buccally.

A more useful model may be obtained from predictors designed from data obtained from low and middle income countries where trauma is said to be a neglected endemic condition.MethodsThis prospective study, after ethical and institutional clearance, examined 19 clinical and Computerize...

Computed tomography, or CT scanning, is one of the most powerful diagnostic tools to emerge during my medical career. Just look at the detail in the brain images above, taken at 90-degree angles through the brain. And I was there at the beginning. I remember well when I was a medical student taking neurology, and the first CT scanner arrived at the Mayo Clinic. By today’s standards, it was incredibly crude. It displayed a tiny image on a cathode ray tube that was then photographed with a Polaroid camera. Preservative lacquer was then smeared on the photograph and it was pasted into the patient’s chart with glue...

Authors: Cappell MS, Hader I, Amin M Abstract AIM: To systematically review liver disease associated with hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH), propose reasonable contraindications for liver transplantation for liver failure in HLH, and report an illustrative case. METHODS: Systematic review according to PRISMA guidelines of hepatic manifestations of HLH using computerized literature search via PubMed of articles published since 1980 with keywords ("hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis" or "HLH") AND ("liver" or "hepatic"). Two authors independently performed literature...

ConclusionCIH is a rare condition due to embryologic developmental abnormalities. Their diagnosis is based on pathognomonic findings on computed tomography scanner (CTscan). Surgical treatment is the mainstay treatment. Delay diagnosis of strangulated CIH is associated with significant morbidity andmortality.

CONCLUSION: Presence of air causes more heterogeneous bladder wall temperatures and lower T90, particularly for larger air pockets. The size of air pockets must therefore be minimized during bladder hyperthermia treatments. PMID: 30303415 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Authors: Tokunaga K, Okamoto M, Watanabe K Abstract We investigated the accuracy of measuring implant orientation after THA in standing position using EOS system (EOS Imaging Inc., Paris, France). Ninety patients who underwent THA were subjected to this study by comparing angles measured by EOS system and those measured from CT scans using 3D image analyzing software, ZedHip (LEXI, Tokyo, Japan). The radiographic cup inclination and anatomical cup anteversion were measured with respect to the anterior pelvic plane (APP) coordinate. The femoral stem antetorsion was analyzed by measuring the angles between the stem n...

Objectives: Lung ultrasound is commonly used to evaluate lung morphology in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome. Aim of this study was to determine lung ultrasound reliability in assessing lung aeration and positive end-expiratory pressure–induced recruitment compared with CT. Design: Randomized crossover study. Setting: University hospital ICU. Patients: Twenty sedated paralyzed acute respiratory distress syndrome patients: age 56 years (43–72 yr), body mass index 25 kg/m2 (22–27 kg/m2), and PaO2/FIO2 160 (113–218). Interventions: Lung CT and lung ultrasoun...
