That failure of regulatory oversight is bad enough. But we can also reveal that the new evidence was tainted by a multi-million- dollar deal between that company and the Swedish doctor who invented TVT.

AbstractA new type chelating resin grafted alkylimide was synthesized to investigate uranium(VI) adsorption properties. The chelating resin was characterized by scanning electron microscopy, infrared spectroscopy and mercury intrusion porosimetry. Results showed that the chelating resin was a macroporous resin with the average pore size of 172.8  nm. The maximum adsorption amount could reach 64.9 mg/g when the dosage was 60 mg, the initial U(VI) concentration was 100 mg/L, the pH was 5.0 and the balance time was 48 h. The adsorption process was accorded with pseudo-first-order kinetic model and Fre...

Herein, a hierarchical reinforcement (CF/SiO2/GO) was prepared through deposition silica (SiO2) and graphene (GO) onto CF surface by Layer-by-Layer electrostatic self-assembly (ESA) for the first time. The experimental results confirmed that the SiO2 and GO were successfully assembly, and scanning electron microscop...

MurrayAbstractStudies of the neural mechanisms underlying value-based decision making typically employ food or fluid rewards to motivate subjects to perform cognitive tasks. Rewards are often treated as interchangeable, but it is well known that the specific tastes of foods and fluids and the values associated with their taste sensations influence choices and contribute to overall levels of food consumption. Accordingly, we characterized the gustatory system in three macaqu...

The X-ray diffraction patterns indicate that all the synthesized samples exhibit a pure phase of CCTO ceramic with absence of secondary phases such as CaTiO3 and CuO. The weight ...

In this study, SBA-15 mesoporous silica was synthesized and functionalized with cross-linked polyacrylic acid and used to remove Reactive Orange 16 (RO16) from aqueous media. X-ray diffraction (XRD), filed emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM), fourier transform infrared spectrometer (FT-IR), thermo gravimetry analysis (TGA) and BET method were used to study the characteristics of the resulting nanocomposite (SBA-15/CPAA). The effective parameters on dye removal, including pH, contact time, temperature and adsorbent dosage were investigated and optimized. The optimum condition was: pH = 2, adsorbent dosage of 0.03...
