State blocks admissions at S. Fla. nursing home where 8 patients died

The Florida Agency for Health Care Administration placed an immediate moratorium on admissions to the Rehabilitation Center at Hollywood Hills, where eight patients died on Sept. 13 in Hurricane Irma's aftermath. Hollywood police officials said the second floor of the nursing home was extremely hot. Dr. Randy Katz, the medical director of Memorial Regional Hospital across the street, said the patients were suffering from respiratory distress, dehydration, and heat-related issues.
