Endovascular Treatment of May –Thurner Syndrome–Related Symptomatic Venous Aneurysm

Nonthrombotic iliac vein compression syndrome, or May –Thurner syndrome (MTS), is a vascular compression syndrome that most commonly results from extrinsic compression of the left common iliac vein by the right common iliac artery (1). Clinical findings include dilation of collateral veins to facilitate venous outflow, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), and left lower-extremity varicosities. Venous aneurysm is a phenomenon that may rarely be associated with MTS. The present report describes a patient with symptomatic MTS-related venous aneurysm that was successfully treated with endovascular repair of the venous outflow obstruction.
