High circulating levels of LOX-1 are associated with elevated risk of ischemic stroke
Aim: Lectin-like oxidized LDL receptor-1 (LOX-1) is up-regulated in atherogenic conditions. Whether LOX-1 is associated with increased risk for ischemic stroke is largely unknown. We aimed to investigate the relation between circulating levels of LOX-1, carotid plaque and incidence of ischemic stroke.
