AbstractAsthma is the most common childhood illness and disproportionately affects low-income, minority children who live in urban areas. A range of risk factors are associated with asthma morbidity and mortality, such as treatment non-adherence, exposure to environmental triggers, low-income households, exposure to chronic stress, child psychological problems, parental stress, family functioning, obesity, physical inactivity, and unhealthy diets. CONCLUSIONS: Serum CgA is a sensitive and effective noninvasive laboratory test for the clinical detection and management of NETs. CONCLUSIONS: The specialty pediatric asthma care pathway revealed a high number of children with newly diagnosed asthma, but was also helpful to exclude this diagnosis. However, the referral rate of GPs to this pathway was low, but in the children, that were referred several changes in the clinical management were advised and the frequency of monitoring of the children with diagnosed asthma was not in accordance with the asthma guidelines.
