This study aimed to explore the impacts of electroacupuncture treatment on gut microbiota composition and function in obese mice. Pyrosequencing of 16S rRNA genes and Metagenomic analysis of the fecal microbiota were used for this purpose. The basic parameters of body weight, Lee's index, serum lipid and epididymal adipose weight were ameliorated significantly after introducing an electroacupuncture intervention. Acidobacteria, Cyanobacteria and Basidiomycota (Normal group) and Fusobacteria, Firmicutes and Spirochmycetes (Model group) were remarkably affluent at the phylum level. Bacteroides sp. CAG: 927 and Prevotella sp....

The objective of this study was to investigate the clinical efficacy of acupoint embedment in weight control of adult obesity or overweight by systematically assess available randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and analyze the integrated findings. A total of 529 literatures were initially searched from the databases. Five RCTs in assessing the effect of acupoint embedment versus sham control group were identified. Results: A total of 219 subjects in the intervention group and 206 subjects in the control group from 5 eligible studies were eventually included in this meta-analysis. Mean body mass index (BMI) decreased 0.9...
Conclusion: Both methods decrease BFP and increase ASM/H2. In male older adults, electrical acupuncture with oral essential amino acids is more effective and can increase muscle mass in a shorter time than oral essential amino acids alone.Obes Facts 2018;11:327-334

ConclusionIn this study, the core acupoints and combinations of auricular acupoint therapy for simple obesity were explored effectively, and the pressing materials and major combined intervention methods were summarized and analyzed, thus providing references and treatment thoughts in terms of the point and prescription selection of auricular acupoint therapy for simple obesity.
This article introduces the basic situation and mechanism of suspended magnetic cupping therapy for weight loss. For pathogenesis of deficiency, phlegm, stagnation and cold in obesity, Shuang Long Xi Zhu (two dragons playing a ball) moxibustion, abdominal Jiu Gong (nine palaces) moxibustion, San Yang Kai Tai (auspicious beginning) moxibustion and Chang Long (long dragon) moxibustion were given respectively. This therapy has inspired the clinical idea of Chinese medicine for obesity.
