Nearly one in four Medicaid members given opioid prescriptions: Express Scripts report

Nearly one quarter of Medicaid members filled an opioid prescription in 2015 and nearly one-third of them took opioids for more than 30 days, according to a new report from Express Scripts. Express Scripts, which is a large provider of pharmacy benefit management services to Medicaid plans, studied the annual opioid use of 3.1 million Medicaid members across 14 states in 2015.
