Blue Cross commits to autism coverage

The largest insurer in Alabama has committed to providing autism coverage hours ahead of a vote on a legislative mandate. According to AL.com, Blue Cross Blue Shield CEO Terry Kellogg this week sent a letter to Sen. Trip Pittman, chairman of the Senate's General Fund committee, saying his company would cover autism diagnosis and treatment in its underwritten, large group plans covering 50 or more employees.
