Breast Health: Self Breast Examination among Hispanic Women
Despite high rates of screening mammography, most breast cancers in Hispanic women are detected by the women themselves. A troubling finding is that about half of all women who noticed an abnormality waited at least a month before seeking medical help. Research is being conducted to determine potential reasons for the prolonged waiting time before seeking a breast cancer program.
