Nicotine Dependence and Willingness to Quit Smoking in Vascular Surgery Patients

Smoking rates have declined; however, it remains the primary modifiable risk factor for vascular disease. Whereas vascular surgeons often advise patients to quit, few provide assistance. We sought to understand patients' interest in quitting and to determine factors that influence this willingness to quit.
