Local endothelial dysfunction does not affect global endothelial function.

CONCLUSIONS: Acute changes in endothelial function can be monitored by retinal vessel analysis with comparable reproducibility as FMD. Salbutamol based pulse wave analysis is currently unsuited to detect endothelial dysfunction in serial measurements.
