Burundi: “We Treat Anyone Who Is Injured, Whatever Their Politics”

Voice from the FieldBurundi: “We Treat Anyone Who Is Injured, Whatever Their Politics” August 25, 2015 Over the past four months, violent clashes between police and protesters in the Burundian capital of Bujumbura have caused hundreds injuries and displaced some 185,000 people into neighboring countries. While mass protests against President Nkurunziza’s third-term electoral bid have now died down, the city remains tense and the nights are punctuated by sporadic violence. Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) head of mission Bruno Duchenne describes the situation.
