In-Office Esophageal Procedures

Abstract Dysphagia is a common symptom experienced by many and arising from numerous different pathologies. Advances in technology have allowed for development of thin, distal-chip, video esophagoscopes. These esophagoscopes have transformed patient care and allow the clinician to perform a comprehensive dysphagia evaluation and provide advanced treatments for swallowing disorders in the office without the need for sedation. The purpose of this manuscript is to provide a state-of-the-art review of office-based esophageal procedures.
